A blog for heavy music lovers. Expect plenty of stoner, doom and sludge, but the blog isn't limited to those genres.

Why? Great bands deserve to be shouted about, especially the ones flying under the radar.

DoD began by documenting small gigs on YouTube before expanding into festival coverage, interviews, reviews and longform features across the UK heavy music scene, covering both underground and established acts.

I am also an active contributor for The Razor's Edge, and outside of writing regularly perform as the guitarist in Alunah and Slump. I also handle social media management for DC Sound Attack.

LIVE REVIEW: She Sells Sin make their sacrilegious live debut

West Midlands-based goth rockers She Sells Sin made their long-awaited live debut at The Giffard Arms in Wolverhampton in January, as main support for longtime UK regulars Rhombus. After releasing a stream of singles in recent years and existing mainly as a studio project led by singer/guitarist Ian Guest, the live lineup is now ready to go and, on tonight's account, already firing on all cylinders. The synth-heavy intro of Sorrow gently leads into a clean first verse, showing She Sells Sin's melodic core from the first moments. Ian's soulful baritone carries the track's powerful hook nicely, before some blasting from their drummer makes for a killer surprise at the very end, showing off some impressive technical chops. Lucifer follows, picking up the pace with its pounding groove and gothic vocal lines. REVIEW: Three singles you might have missed in early 2025

Hello! It's been a while since I've posted on here. I'd been thinking about how to bring this blog back for a while, doing a bit of strategising with others, and then after a confidence boost a few weeks ago I'm feeling more motivated to get back on here, writing about the music I'm hearing. Anyway, 2025 has started brightly and I've wrapped my ears around some good new music already. Here's three tracks that may have gone over your heads (and ears) if you like Sabbathy, riffy goodness, as many of this blog's followers do as well. Earl Of Hell - The Infernal Dream The first single from the Edinburgh-based quintet's upcoming album, due on April 25th via Copper Feast records, Earl Of Hell have opened their new chapter on a strong note.
