NEWS: Uprising 7 announces first wave of bands

After one of the biggest crowds the festival has seen at Uprising 6, Leicestershire's best Heavy Metal festival returns for its seventh instalment on Saturday 25th May.  Taking place across three stages at the O2 Academy in Leicester, Uprising welcomes a wealth of talent from across the globe to next year’s lineup. Firstly, American extreme metal titans BRUJERIA will bring the violence to Uprising. With a career spanning 34 years, BRUJERIA are back with a brand new album 'Esto Es Brujeria' and will be performing a set full of their biggest hits. You can expect to hear 'La Migra (Cruza La Frontera II)', 'Revolución', 'Marijuana', and many more. The band have been unable to comment on their appearance due to flying back from a very successful European Tour. Check out 'Plata O Plomo' taken from their 2016 album 'Pocho Aztlan'. NEWS: Tribe of Ghosts drop 'Hive', play Bloodstock next week

Brighton-based metallers Tribe of Ghosts are back with another brand new track, serving as a great addition to their fearsome stream of singles. Seemingly emerging out of nowhere just over a year ago, they have made some serious waves since last year's appearance at Bloodstock's New Blood Stage. Most recently to this, they had Ben Mason from Bound in Fear guest on Deny The Rot  - and they're appearing on the Sophie stage at Bloodstock in just over a week. Hive opens with a frantic, agitated guitar riff and punishing electronic sounds before introducing the iconic twin-vocal synergy for a couple of verses from Beccy and Adam, calling and responding with each other, the two disparate styles - importantly - complementing the other. The drumming in particular is very powerful, technical, and locked in with the fret-burning riffs, giving the track a bit of a Gojira-style feel in its groovier verses.
